* While the environment has never played a deciding role in a presidential election, these issues are often a critical part of how the candidates define themselves and each other. This election is proving to be no different.
Environment. If we screw this one up, we are all dead, either now or in the future. I prefer that we not screw it up. Hire brilliant scientists, listen to their advice, and push hard to get clean, inexpensive power. Solar panels and fuel cells look very promising. So does alcohol as a fuel alternative.
There are other environmental issues, mostly related to chemical processing, getting at natural resources, and using them. I don't have the answers,
I wish I did, but someone somewhere should be able to resolve these problems.
Trash and garbage... Recycle as much as possible, and strive hard to make less garbage.
