UT3 Hints and Tips

• Getting Started with UT3 mods
• A complaint about the official home page for UT3. It is terrible. You can't log into the site without enabling flash, and once you do, the site chews up your bandwith pumping video and audio at you. Not at all a good site design, violating several basic principles all at once.
• The UTEngine file has moved. You can now find it in this directory C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

The article goes on to suggest a few changes you can try to increase performance, and mention that you can find a tweak guide here. This tweak guide is for the demo, I am not sure how many of the tweaks carry over.

  1. Start the game ( not the server )
  2. Host a game
  3. put in all your info plus any mutators.
  4. then start dedicated server
  5. Look in the logs folder
  

  Located in mydocuments/mygames/unreal tournament 3/logs/dedicated server file
  
  there you will a file called "dedicated server" open it up and look at the 5th line down. There you will find your complete server command line. just copy and paste it for your server command line
  
  Note: Make sure you put -unattended and the end of your command line.
