Bramble Tower
This roadside tavern and supporting compound looks more like a small fortress than a
tavern, with crenellations and arrow slits, along with a brightly painted "Welcome"
sign. The food is good, and they have rooms for rent.
The bartender is a battlescarred fighter named Slash.
Most of the construction looks to be of recent work, much of it seamless sheets of stone
and iron. If you ask any of the tavern regulars, you learn that this building had been
recently rebuilt after a series of giantish raids flattened the previous building.
"Monks Finest" beverage is available here.
There is a lady bard playing here, who has a horse named Hort Blather.
Deep Town
Dreadwood
This large forest is supposedly the domain of elves. Efforts have been mounted to clear the forest of evil creatures, but these have failed time and again. Raiders from the swamplands are often seen moving through there.

Howling Hills
The cold Howling Hills seem to be cursed, not just because they lie in the lands of Iuz, but because throughought history they were the scene of terrible bloodshed. The ruins of human, giant, dwarf and orc habitations, many nearly a millennium old, are scatered throughout this craggy upland which also hides several ancient burial complexes and deep caves. Not suprisingly, the hills are home to a host of incorporeal undead, though fierce nonhumans are more abundant. Few giant clans remain, and those who do are malformed and hideous. The eastern lands are firmly in the hands of the Old One, and the western half is often raided by Wolf Nomads.
Kester
A caravan town, overseeing traffic through to Ull beyond. Generally temprate climate in the area. Slavery is perhaps the most lucrative trade in the area.
Land Forever Shrouded
This land lies somewhere to the south in the darkest clouds. Here, stunted vegetation and subterranean creatures are found on the surface of the earth. Most who go here are quickly turned into food for the monstrous residents, but some find unusual treasures.

Mounds of Dawn
These hills are home to monsters that descend from the north, often isolating the inabitants of the walled town of Exag from the rest of the country. Fine mineral deposits are reported to lie here, as well as many lost treasures and tombs. Dwarven clans here are xenophobic.

Ruined City
Sable Wood
This evergreen frest is within the realms of the Ice Barbarians. It is a hazardous region, for winter wolves prowl its western half. Sable firs are short, but have thick trunks for their size. Their branches make excellent arrow shafts, and the wood lumbered in mid-winter turns a deep, lustrous black when rubbed with hot oils. The barbarians prize this material greatly and will not export it.

Theocracy of the Pale
The Pale is ruled by a clerical hierarcy in the name of their god, Pholtus. The Pale has been moving towards a state of an inquisition. Evil priesthoods and hostile cults are actively routed out and destroyed (hence the destruction of the Temple of Elelemental Evil), while other faiths are supressed. Arcane magicians, and other so-called "consorts of demons" are also closely watched.
Troll Fens
This swamp is covered year-round in cold, swirling mists. The notorious trolls here have menaced the Pale for centuries. Troll invasions from here have tripled in size in the last two seasons, and reports of a new "Troll King" are disquieting.
Tsar
Ulsprue
This is a minor spur of the Crystalmist Mountains. The range is nortorious for its ogres and related monsters, and for its high-dwelling nomads and unfriendly tribesmen.
